The Holy Family Sisters of the Needy is an indigenous Congregation with Diocesan Right, founded in March 19th,1983 by veryRev. Fr. Denis Mary Joseph Ononuju Obiaga, CSSp. The Mother house is Located at Nekede in Owerri Archdioces of imo State with Generalate situated at Nimo , in the Diocese of Awka in Anambra State. We are currently working in different parts of the Africa, Europe, United Kingdom, and the United State of America.
The main Apostolate of the Congregation is tailored to the care of the unwed mothers and their unborn babies (prolife promtion). We are also dedicated to serving the poor, Needy and marginalized. We run Homes for the orphans and destitute, Physically , Mentally Challenged and old peoples . We also run Hospitals, Schools and other social/pastoral care institutions.
THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE HOLY FAMILY SISTERS OF THE NEEDY:
The Generalate currently Located at Nimo in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State is the headquarter housing the Administrative body of the Congregation.
GOVERANCE: The Congregation is Governed by a superior general and Council who are duly elected during a general Chapter which is the highest authority of the congregation for a specified number of years as agreed in the Genaral Chapter.
CURRENT LEADERSHIP: The present superior General is Rev. Mother Folashade Mary Adesanya , OP. She is working with five member animation team.
ZONAL STRUCTURE: The Congregation is divided into six administrative Zones with a Zonal superior coordinating the Sisters and their work in the zone and liaising with the central administration.
